Is HomeAdvisor the Same as Angi? Yes, One Company, and HomeAdvisor Pro Is Now Angi Leads
By Sharrk Team · October 16, 2026
Yes. HomeAdvisor and Angi are the same company, Angi Inc., and HomeAdvisor Pro (the contractor side) is now called Angi Leads, so pros who buy HomeAdvisor leads are buying Angi leads. Sharrk is the fastest way to win them: Angi leads come into Sharrk automatically and get a reply by call or text in under 30 seconds.
Below is the short history, what the merger means for your account and your lead spend, and how to turn more of those leads into booked jobs.
Is HomeAdvisor the same company as Angi?
Yes. Angi Inc. was formed in 2017 as ANGI Homeservices Inc. to combine IAC's HomeAdvisor business with Angie's List, and that combination closed in September 2017. In its annual report for 2025, Angi Inc. says it owns and operates three home services brands in the United States: Angi, Angie's List and HomeAdvisor.
| Date | What happened | Source |
|---|---|---|
| September 2017 | HomeAdvisor and Angie's List combined under ANGI Homeservices Inc. | Angi Inc. 2025 Form 10-K |
| March 17, 2021 | Angie's List became Angi; ANGI Homeservices renamed Angi Inc.; HomeAdvisor became "HomeAdvisor, powered by Angi" | Angi Inc. press release |
| 2021 onward | HomeAdvisor Pro renamed Angi Leads | HomeAdvisor Pro help center |
| March 31, 2025 | IAC spun off its full stake; Angi became an independent public company | Angi Inc. spin-off release |
| Today | The pro app is "Angi for Pros" (formerly Angi Leads and Angi Ads) | Apple App Store listing |
So when a homeowner says "I found you on HomeAdvisor" and another says "I found you on Angi," both requests came through the same company.
Is HomeAdvisor going away?
Not as a website. Angi Inc. still lists HomeAdvisor as one of its brands, and its 2021 rebrand turned it into "HomeAdvisor, powered by Angi" rather than shutting it down. The company has said it renamed Angie's List to Angi to focus marketing, sales and branding on a single brand, and the Angi name now leads on both the homeowner and the pro side.
For contractors, the practical change is on the pro side: Angi's own pro help center says plainly that "HomeAdvisor Pro is now Angi Leads."
What does it mean for contractors buying leads?
Here is what Angi's pro help pages and annual report confirm:
- One pro program. HomeAdvisor Pro is now Angi Leads, and the pro app is now Angi for Pros.
- One listing on both sites. Angi's annual report says the basic annual membership includes a profile page on both HomeAdvisor.com and Angi.com, and the membership FAQ says your listing appears on Angi in addition to HomeAdvisor powered by Angi.
- Check the lead source. The membership FAQ says leads from Angi are labeled in the lead details.
- Memberships are annual. The FAQ says memberships are annual and auto-renew unless otherwise stated; you can cancel any time and the membership runs to the end of the paid term.
- Same lead rules. The leads FAQ covers how every lead type is billed, whatever name you knew it by.
How Angi Leads are shared and billed
| Lead type | Pros who can receive it | When you are charged |
|---|---|---|
| Market Match | Up to four pros | When the homeowner sends the request, whether or not you open or respond |
| Exact Match | As many pros as the homeowner chooses | When the request is sent; may cost more because the homeowner picked you |
| Instant Booking | As many pros as the homeowner chooses | When sent, even if the appointment is not confirmed or is canceled |
The price of each lead depends on the project's size, location and type. We break down real prices by trade, membership fees and lead credits in what Angi leads cost, so we won't repeat it here. If you also buy from Thumbtack, compare it with Thumbtack's lead pricing.
The key point from that table: you pay for a lead the moment it is sent, and a Market Match lead can go to up to four pros. Every minute between "lead sent" and "homeowner hears from you" is money already spent on a lead someone else might win.
How do you win more HomeAdvisor and Angi leads?
Angi's own help center tells pros to follow up quickly to maximize the chance of winning the lead, and to contact every lead as quickly as possible. Its Angi Assistant also texts pros when a homeowner shares times for a call, and Angi recommends replying as soon as you can. Speed is the lever you control. Here is a simple playbook:
- Reply in seconds, not hours. The first pro to have a real conversation sets the price, the schedule and the expectations. Our speed to lead guide covers why the first minutes matter most.
- Call and text together. A homeowner at work may not pick up but will read a text. Send both.
- Ask the three questions that qualify the job. What needs doing, where it is, and when they want it done.
- Offer a specific time. "Can we come Thursday at 10 or 2?" books more than "When works for you?"
- Follow up on a schedule. If they go quiet, follow up the same day, the next day and later that week.
- Check the lead source. Note whether it came from Angi or HomeAdvisor so you can see which spend pays off.
A first-reply text you can use
Hi [First name], this is [Your name] with [Company]. Thanks for your request on Angi for [service]. I can help. Is this at [address/area]? We have openings [day] at [time] or [time]. Which works best?
How does Sharrk reply to Angi leads in under 30 seconds?
When you connect Angi to Sharrk, every new Angi lead comes into Sharrk automatically. Your AI voice or text agent replies by call or text in under 30 seconds, day or night, asks your qualifying questions and books the appointment onto Sharrk's calendar, Calendly or Cal.com (or straight into ServiceTitan). If the homeowner wants a person, the agent can transfer the call live to you or your team.
If they don't book right away, a Strike takes over: an automated follow-up sequence of calls, texts and emails that runs inside quiet hours (8am to 8pm in your account's time zone). Every lead lands in Sharrk's built-in CRM with pipelines, next to your leads from Thumbtack, Networx, web forms and webhooks, so you can see what each source brings in.
