How Much Do Electrician Leads Cost? About $10 to $150 Per Lead
By Sharrk Team · October 18, 2026
Electrician leads usually cost about $10 to $150 each, depending on the source: shared marketplace leads from Angi, Thumbtack and Networx sit at the low end, Google Local Services Ads run roughly $35 to $75, and Google search ads (PPC) run about $93 to $150 per lead, based on third-party estimates. With Sharrk, an AI voice and text agent platform, every one of those leads gets answered and followed up automatically, so more of what you pay for turns into booked electrical jobs.
The price per lead is only half the math. What matters is the cost per booked job, and that depends on how fast you answer and how long you keep following up.
How much do electrician leads cost by source?
None of the big marketplaces publishes a rate card for electrical leads, so most of these figures are third-party estimates. Google publishes how its lead charges work but not a price list. Here is what the published ranges say as of October 2026.
| Lead source | Typical cost per lead | Lead type | Where the number comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Angi | $15 to $85 (some sources say up to $100+), plus optional $0 to $350/month subscription | Usually shared | Housecall Pro, contractor-reported estimates (2026) |
| Thumbtack | $10 to $80+ | Shared | Housecall Pro estimate (2026) |
| Networx | $10 to $100+ shared, $15 to $120+ exclusive | Shared or exclusive | Networx help center as cited by LeadWinner (July 2026) |
| Google Local Services Ads | About $35 to $75 typical; $43.15 average in 2026 | Your own call or message | 99 Calls campaign data, reported by Lead Smart and The Valley Marketing Group (2026) |
| Google search ads (PPC) | About $93 to $150 | Exclusive | The Valley Marketing Group estimate (July 2026) |
A few notes on reading this table:
- Shared leads are cheaper because other electricians get the same lead. The low price only pays off if you reach the homeowner first.
- Local Services Ads are rising. 99 Calls reported the average electrical LSA lead went from $28.58 in 2025 to $43.15 in 2026, a 51% increase. The Valley Marketing Group cites 99 Calls' May 2026 data at a $60.14 average and a typical $34.97 to $75.22 range.
- PPC is a calculated estimate, not a reported average. The Valley Marketing Group worked it out from an average electrical click cost of about $12.18 and an assumed 13% landing-page conversion rate.

Why do electrical lead prices vary so much?
Three things move the price more than anything else:
- Job type. A panel upgrade or EV charger install is worth far more than swapping an outlet, and lead prices follow. Housecall Pro points to panel upgrades as a job where a lead around $100 is easy to justify against a $5,000+ project.
- Market and competition. Every source above says prices change by city and by how many electricians are bidding there.
- How the lead is sold. Google prices LSA leads by location, job type, lead type and bidding mode, and says message leads are typically priced lower than phone leads. Shared marketplace leads cost less than exclusive leads because you split them with competitors.
What counts as a paid lead on Google Local Services Ads?
This one surprises a lot of electricians. Google's help page says a missed call during business hours counts as a lead if the caller stayed on the line for more than 20 seconds. Texts, emails, voicemails and booking requests can also count.
In other words, you can pay for a lead you never spoke to. Google does reassess charged leads for 30 days and may credit low-quality or invalid ones, but a call you simply didn't pick up is still a real customer you paid to reach. Answering every call is the cheapest way to protect your ad spend.
How do you lower your cost per booked job?
You usually can't control what Angi or Google charges per lead. You can control how many of those leads turn into jobs. Here is what works:
- Answer every call, including nights and weekends. An electrical emergency doesn't wait for business hours, and on shared leads the homeowner often books whoever answers first.
- Reply to marketplace leads within seconds, not hours. Angi, Thumbtack and Networx leads go cold fast because the same homeowner is hearing from other pros.
- Follow up more than once. One call and one text is not a follow-up plan. Plan several touches over a few days across calls, texts and email.
- Qualify on the first contact. Ask the job type (panel, EV charger, repair, new circuit), the address and the timeline, so your techs don't drive to jobs you can't price.
- Track cost per booked job, not cost per lead. Divide what you spent on a source by the jobs it actually booked. A $40 lead you book half the time beats a $20 lead you book one time in ten.
Here is that last point as simple arithmetic: at $40 per lead and a 50% booking rate, each booked job costs $80 in lead spend. At $20 per lead and a 10% booking rate, each booked job costs $200.
How does Sharrk handle electrician leads?
Sharrk answers and follows up on every lead so you get more booked jobs out of the leads you already pay for. Here is what it does for an electrical business:
- AI voice agents answer every call 24/7. They qualify the caller, book the job, and live-transfer to you or your team when a person should take it (cold or warm transfer).
- Marketplace leads get a reply in under 30 seconds. Leads from Angi, Thumbtack, Networx, web forms and webhooks get an immediate response.
- Strikes follow up automatically. Each new lead gets a timed sequence across AI calls, texts, an AI text agent, email, ringless voicemail and video text. It branches on call results and replies, and stops when the lead asks, replies or has a real conversation.
- Booking where you already work. Jobs book onto Sharrk's calendar, Calendly, Cal.com, or ServiceTitan with real arrival windows by business unit and job type.
- Every call is logged. You get transcripts, recordings, extracted job details and email or text alerts.
Mako, Sharrk's AI assistant, builds all of this from plain English. Tell it "answer calls for my electrical business, book panel upgrades and EV charger installs, and follow up with every Angi lead," and it builds the agent and the follow-up. Each change shows on an Apply card first, and you can Undo it.
Sharrk Free lets you build and test everything with Mako at no cost and with no card. Sharrk Core is $99 a month with every feature live; see pricing for every plan. Learn more about the AI receptionist for electrical contractors, then start free or book a demo.
