Does Dialpad Have an AI Receptionist? Yes, but Pricing Is by Quote
By Sharrk Team · October 31, 2026
Disclosure: we make Sharrk, an AI receptionist for home-service and local businesses, so we have a stake in this comparison. Dialpad details below come only from Dialpad's own pages, checked October 31, 2026.
Yes, Dialpad has an AI receptionist. Dialpad's AI receptionist page says it runs on Dialpad AI Agents, which Dialpad now sells as Dialpad Resolve, and Dialpad publishes no price for it: its plan summary says "Contact sales for pricing."
That means you can see what Dialpad's phone seats cost, but you have to talk to sales to find out what the AI receptionist itself will cost.
What is Dialpad's AI receptionist called?
Dialpad's AI receptionist page uses the plain name "AI receptionist," and it describes the product behind it as Dialpad AI Agents. Dialpad's October 2026 plan summary page lists it as "Dialpad Resolve (formerly Dialpad AI Agents)." Dialpad's platform page also shows a screen labeled "Dialpad AI Receptionist settings."
So whether you see "AI Receptionist," "AI Agent" or "Resolve" in a sales conversation, they all point to the same AI agent platform, set up to answer your calls.
Don't mix it up with Dialpad Ai Assistant. Dialpad's help center says Ai Assistant gives your human agents answers from a knowledge base during live calls and chats. It's for Dialpad Support and Dialpad Sell users on a Premium plan. It doesn't answer calls by itself.
What can Dialpad's AI receptionist do?
According to Dialpad's AI receptionist page, it can:
- Handle inbound calls "around the clock," with separate after-hours settings
- Send calls to a person based on what the caller needs, passing the conversation context along. Routing can depend on time of day, day of week, department or a specific person.
- Check availability and book, reschedule or confirm appointments during the call. Dialpad's FAQ notes that more complex scheduling may need a broader AI customer service agent.
- Be set up in a no-code builder where you describe what you want in plain language
Dialpad's AI Agent launch post adds that the AI agent works across voice, web chat, SMS, email and WhatsApp, and launched with "40+ native integrations." That page doesn't list which integrations or which plans include it.
How much does the Dialpad AI receptionist cost?
Dialpad doesn't publish a price for it. Here's what Dialpad's own pages do say:
| Item | What Dialpad publishes (checked Oct 31, 2026) |
|---|---|
| AI receptionist (Dialpad Resolve / AI Agents) | "Contact sales for pricing" |
| How AI agent usage is billed | Conversations "run on credits." You're charged only when the agent responds. |
| Usage alerts | Emails at 80%, 90% and 100% of AI Agent credits, with optional auto-recharge |
| Connect Standard phone seat | $15/user/month annual, or $27 month to month |
| Connect Pro phone seat | $25/user/month annual, or $35 month to month |
| Connect Enterprise | Custom pricing |
| Free trial | 14 days (Connect) |
The billing details come from Dialpad's AI Agent Conversations Credits help article. That article tells customers to ask their Customer Success Manager about plan inclusions, pricing and what counts as a conversation. It also says AI Agent use comes out of an AI Agent bundle first, then from general Dialpad Credits.
In practice, your bill has two parts: the phone seats you pay for anyway, and AI agent credits at a rate you agree with sales. To compare that fairly with a published per-minute or credit price, ask Dialpad for the cost per conversation, how a conversation is defined, and what happens when a call runs long. Our AI receptionist cost guide explains how other vendors price this.
Do you need to be on Dialpad to use it?
Dialpad's pages present the AI receptionist as part of the Dialpad platform. Its AI Agent credits are drawn "from the primary office's account." That points to it being built for businesses that already run their phones on Dialpad. If you're on another phone system, ask Dialpad sales whether you can use the AI receptionist without moving your numbers and seats. Its pages don't answer that.
The same goes for RingCentral, which also sells its AI receptionist alongside its phone system. See our RingCentral AI receptionist breakdown for how that one is packaged.
Dialpad vs Sharrk: how do they compare?
| Dialpad AI receptionist | Sharrk | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it's built for | Businesses running phones and contact centers on Dialpad | Home-service and local businesses |
| Published AI price | No, "Contact sales for pricing" | Yes: Free $0 (2,500 one-time credits), Core $99/mo, Complete $449/mo, Complete Plus $999/mo |
| How usage is billed | AI Agent credits, rate set with sales | Credits: an AI call minute is 150 credits, so Core's 47,500 monthly credits cover about 316 call minutes if used only on calls |
| Phone seats | Connect from $15/user/month annual | Not required |
| 24/7 answering | Yes | Yes |
| Hand-off to a person | Intent-based routing with context | Live transfer to a person |
| Booking | Books, reschedules, confirms appointments | Books onto Sharrk's calendar, Calendly, Cal.com or ServiceTitan |
| Setup | No-code builder, plain-language instructions | Mako builds the agent from plain English |
| Try before paying | 14-day Connect trial | Free plan, no card |
Dialpad is a reasonable choice if your team already lives in Dialpad and wants the AI receptionist inside the same phone system and contact center. If you run a trade business and want a price you can see before talking to anyone, a standalone tool with published pricing is easier to compare. Our AI voice agent cost per minute guide shows how to work out a per-minute cost.
What should you ask Dialpad sales before buying?
- What's the price per AI Agent conversation or credit, and how is a conversation defined?
- Which Dialpad plans can add the AI receptionist, and is there a minimum number of seats?
- Which calendars and field-service tools can it book into for my business?
- How do live transfers work after hours when nobody is in the office?
- Is there a contract term, and what happens when credits run out (auto-recharge or paused agents)?
Get the answers in writing so you can compare them line by line with vendors that publish their prices.
We've also checked whether OpenPhone (now Quo) has an AI receptionist and what it charges per call.
